These tampers weigh 10.5 oz. so with handle, it could be almost a lb., recommended for efficient tamping. The 49 mm, 51 mm and 53 mm will fit all home espresso machines while the 57mm is for commercial or larger espresso machines. The tamper comes with a 1″ set screw that is 3/8″ x 16 tpi. so you can use any of my mandrels to turn the handle as you would a bottle stopper or bottle opener. The bevel on the top of all the coffee tampers is 1 1/4″ diameter.
*note: if you do craft shows, buy 6 or 8 set screws, attach them to finished handles and get 2 or 3 tampers and let the customers choose their own handle. This saves you money, makes the customer feel they are getting a “custom” item. Here is a card you can use with your tampers: Espresso.Tamper

The 49mm was the exact match for our DeLonghi – COM532M. The machining/polishing was superb. The heft and polish make it feel like a truly professional tool. I combined it with a bright Inlace Acrylester handle and everybody wants to hold and use it. A former barista has said that it was better than the one he used.
Note: measure carefully, the baskets are slanted and the tamper will not reach the bottom.
